Arlene Piacquadio

Arlene is a New Yorker who recently moved to Rhode Island in 2012. She studied Art at Ohio University and Marymount College and began teaching Art in the early 70's. Her mediums included Pottery, Jewelry, and Oil Painting. She owned and operated a small Art Boutique in the Greenwich Village in NYC called "The Sun Wise Turn." After completing her PhD in Counseling, she worked as an Art therapist and her creativity in her counseling career enhanced her personal Art perspective.

After moving to Rhode Island and attending RISD, she became energized by Encaustics and began working in this medium. Encaustics and mixed media have encompassed the progression in her Art work and a new freedom of process. She first became a member of ACGOW and actively participated in the Gallery, and in 2015 was elected President. She works in Encaustic including monotypes, powdered pigments, graphite and shellac showing at AGOW and other Art Galleries in RI and CT.
